Hope Cove

You’ll find a warm welcome in and around Hope Cove, with everything that makes a West Country holiday so special all year round.

The village has a local stores, inns, picturesque lanes and thatched cottages. Situated right at the southernmost tip of Devon, this mild part of England is protected by the rugged cliffs of Bolt Tail. The little villages of Inner and Outer Hope with their safe beaches face across Bigbury Bay. This is the heart of the South Hams, one of the most beautiful unspoilt parts of England combining sandy beaches, spectacular cliffs and coves, pretty villages and lovely countryside. Much of it is owned by National Trust and protected as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Hope Cove is a peaceful place, but if you are feeling energetic there’s always plenty to do. You can swim, dive, fish or sail – or just build sandcastles. You can explore the cliff paths or wander slowly by the thatched cottages of Inner Hope. A short drive will take you to the mysterious beauty of Dartmoor, historic towns and stately homes, to a centre for rare animals or children’s adventure parks. You can take a trip along the Salcombe estuary or a steam train along the Dart Valley. You can play golf or tennis, go riding or learn windsurfing. All just a short distance away.
